In mid-August, the family and I took a little trip to Maine to visit with some friends. In order to save time and wear-and-tear on the bodies and car, we decided to fly instead of drive. It was the first time in a plane for the kids, and they loved it. My daughter was a bit more drawn to the window than our son, who wanted his shade pulled. But both handled the airports and flights even better than we could have ever hoped.
Anyhow, after arriving in Boston we were picked up by our friends, whom we had not seen since 2001. We drove that evening to Bridgton, Maine, where we arrived at the camp which belongs to the parents of our friends. It is a very nice place on the shore of Long Lake. I’ll spare the details, except to say we spent the week relaxing on the lake. We swam, rode in the pontoon boat, kayaked, and ate lobster. We took one day-trip to visit the Conway Scenic Railroad in Conway, NH. Our sleeping quarters for the week were very comfortable, and we really enjoyed our time there. Maine is a beautiful state, and everyone was very friendly. Feel free to check out some sample pictures from our trip by clicking here or on the picture above.

Shortly after returning home, I had the opportunity to attend the Toby Keith concert at Riverbend in Cincinnati with a couple of my co-workers. We had a great time, as evidenced by the pictures. Since they were taken with my camera phone, they aren’t the best quality. That said, they aren’t that bad, either, for a camera phone!
